Browser-first tool processing
When you paste a YouTube URL or video ID, TubeSnaps parses it in your browser and generates known public thumbnail image candidates. Your browser may load public images from YouTube image hosts to check candidate availability.
Local thumbnail files selected in the resizer or cropper stay on your device and are read only with browser APIs for preview and dimension checks. The current website does not require a TubeSnaps account, Google login, YouTube OAuth permission, channel connection, or server-side video processing.
- TubeSnaps does not upload or store the full YouTube URL, video ID, video title, thumbnail description, or selected local image as an analytics event.
- TubeSnaps does not download or store YouTube videos.
- No server-side thumbnail library is created by the current static website.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
TubeSnaps uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for privacy-first website traffic trends and real-user performance measurements such as page views and Core Web Vitals. Cloudflare states that this service does not collect or use visitors' personal data and does not track individual users across Cloudflare customers' websites.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is separate from GA4. Its page-view and visit definitions may differ from GA4 users, sessions, and views, so the two dashboards are not expected to show identical totals.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics is used for site and performance trends, not detailed tool conversion events.
- Google tag gateway may deliver Google tags and measurement requests through a first-party TubeSnaps path, but it does not bypass or replace consent controls.
Region-aware GA4 and Microsoft Clarity
TubeSnaps loads Google Tag Manager for minimized product measurement. In ordinary regions, Google Consent Mode permits analytics measurement by default. In the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage remain denied unless a Google-certified consent message supplies the visitor's choice.
Clarity inputs and generated tool results are explicitly masked with Clarity's masking attribute. Microsoft Clarity recognizes Google Consent Mode signals and limits cookie use when analytics storage is denied.
- GA4 may receive event names, tool name, page path, URL type, stable error category, result counts, duration values, result status, and low-cardinality review bands.
- GA4 does not receive the full YouTube URL, raw or hashed video ID, title, description, local filename, clipboard contents, or uploaded image from TubeSnaps custom events.
- Clarity may receive masked interaction layout, clicks, scroll behavior, device and page context, heatmaps, and consented session replay.
- The planned GA4 user and event data retention setting is 14 months. Clarity states that playback data is retained for 30 days and heatmap, click, labeled, or favorited session data may be retained for 9 months.
Regional consent controls
TubeSnaps does not show a custom analytics prompt to every visitor. Google Consent Mode applies stricter defaults only in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, where storage remains denied until a certified consent management platform provides a valid choice.
When AdSense is enabled, Google's certified consent management platform will provide the applicable regional message and a Privacy and cookie settings control for reviewing or withdrawing choices.
- Necessary browser-first tool features remain available regardless of analytics or advertising consent.
- AdSense may serve Auto Ads after the site is approved and advertising is enabled in the AdSense account; manual ad units additionally require a slot ID.
- Do not send passwords, private links, or confidential information through TubeSnaps inputs.
TubeSnaps Chrome Extension
The TubeSnaps Chrome extension processes the current frame from a YouTube video or Short locally in your browser when you explicitly request a capture. The captured frame is used only to create a PNG image that you can save to your device or copy to the clipboard.
Chrome extension version 1.0.0 does not use the website's Cloudflare, GTM, GA4, Clarity, or Google tag gateway integrations. It does not upload or retain screenshots, read clipboard contents, collect browsing history, or transmit YouTube URLs, video IDs, video titles, timestamps, or usage events.
- Clipboard writing occurs only after you explicitly choose the Copy action.
- The activeTab permission is used only for a user-requested capture action.
- Extension host access is limited to https://www.youtube.com/*.
- TubeSnaps does not sell or share data processed by the Chrome extension.
Third parties, advertising, and updates
Thumbnail images may be loaded from YouTube image hosts such as img.youtube.com. Opening a YouTube, image, documentation, or affiliate link sends you to a third-party website governed by its own policy. TubeSnaps does not control third-party sites or browser extensions active in your browser.
TubeSnaps loads the Google AdSense publisher script once, uses Google's certified CMP for applicable regional messages, and exposes a consent-revocation control. Ad serving depends on site approval, account settings, regional consent, and available inventory. This policy is general product information and is not legal advice.
